Facts about Underthrow

- General fact: Underthrow is not the name that Lanze the Demigod had given his realm, in fact, he has not given a name to it at all. The humans did.
Underthrow is a realm, a place in it’s own universe. There are around 27 isles, the biggest is around 100 km². There are a few predatory animals, which don’t attack big preys and some herbivore species as well. The largest predatory animal is almost as big as a small dog and the largest herbivore is about the size of a domestic cat. There are some bigger monsters or beasts located deep into caves and ruins that are all around the isles, but they are just there and no where else.
All water is drinkable and most of the herbs found in the wild are eatable, but some are more or less toxic, but nothing fatal. The ones not eatable are extremely poisonous. The sky changes color, only darker colors, depending on the Demigod’s mood and so do the weather.
The Demigod lives on the smallest isle in a large castle.
A large gateway is in the middle of the isles, it’s gateway on Earth changes place every 100 years.

- The Demigod Lanze: Lanze was a high priest in one of the larger Tigren temples before he became a Demigod. Lanze is a part of a certain bloodline within the tigren people called “Blood Tigren”, which meant that he had a connection to the god he was worshipping back then. At the age of 20, every Blood Tigren will meet their God and receive a gift, depending on how much they have worshipped him. Lanze’s gift is a amulet, which would grant him immortality and the powers of a god, but in exchange it would tear his sanity in pieces.
He turned into a Demigod at the age of 27, he was shortly after that forced to make a world for his own by his own people. And that he did.
His powers are to manipulate life and death, why is because he used to work with healing magic as a priest. He also got the power to shape his realm to his will.
He is also completely insane and have almost every known mental illness, but they come in waves so he doesn’t have them all at once, just one or two. Each insanity can last from a second to a whole day before changing to a new one, but never longer than a day.

- Lanze’s Aura: Lanze generates an aura, that affects everyone in his realm. It has the power to drive someone mad. Mostly it’s just temporary, or as long as the affected is in his realm, and in some cases even permanent insanity is caused. Stronger minds can resist his aura more. But also, a citizen of his realm which has been “invited” by himself, or someone high-ranked in his Council, will stop aging if under the effect of the Aura.

- Factions

The Council: Everyone that are a member of this faction is always close to Lanze himself. People that are members here can be bodyguards, which are not really needed, or simple cooks or advisers. However, only people that are the best in a certain area are welcome into this faction.

Citizenship: Everyone here are citizens in Lanze realm.

The Heretics: The Heretics are quite odd, they think that Lanze is a false god and should be banned into a place called “The Void”, there lives false gods powerless. They sometimes attack citizens and have sometimes tried to assassinate Lanze, but he just keeps getting up. They have tried and sometimes succeeded converting other citizens. They age but have “life creation” spells to increase their numbers.

The Fanatics: These are believers of Lanze, but from his aura, they have gotten incurable insane. They do believe that Lanze is not the “real” Demigod, he’s just an illusion of the “real” Lanze. And no one, exept the “real” Lanze, should be using his throne and power, so the Heretics’ main target is to kill Lanze, so the “real” one can appear. But they also attack Heretics and “unbelievers”, which are citizens that don’t “deserve” being believers of Lanze.

The Demon Talkers: The Demon Talkers are a cult of magicans, all are more or less insane but they are not known as enemies or allies. They are a neutral part of all Factions.
They are merchants in demonic artefacts and weaponry, but they also sell something else. The Demon Talkers have learned to speak the demon’s language and through that they can cast certain word-based spells. These spells forces a demon to speak it’s true name and therefore it could be “captured”. They sell demons as servants, or as pets or something else depending on the buyers’ interests. And they are not cheap either.
Almost every Demon Talker got an own Bounder Demon (A link in the Artist’s Comment will explain)

- Laws: The laws are quite easy and not to complicated either. They are in fact so clear that there are no laws written down. The simple ones like “Don’t Kill” and “Don’t Steal” are such things you just should know. But there are one that never should be broken and that’s “Don’t go backwards, speaking in riddles and throwing stones at your right”. Breaking this law means death. Lanze made it when he was drunk and suffered from three different insanities at the same time.

- Population: It’s unknown since no one really cares.

This is good! That aura of Lanze's reminds the effect of Sheogorath, the Daedric Price of Madness also known as Madgod. (known from game Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles, an extention pack to ES IV: Oblivion) He has a unique effect to drive people crazy, since he is a bit crazy too.... ^^
