So me and Starnibbe has been busy playing Stellaris. A fun slow-paced galaxy based game where you make your own alien empire and set out in a massive universe to either conquer or unite it all. You can customize your empire quite nicely and I basically did roleplay the Chimera at some point. They are still pacifists that enjoy the company of others.
This is basically my Chimera in the Stellaris game. No magic means no wings or flight or anything like that so I removed the talons and replaced it with clawed feet instead. The snake's tail was removed as well and replaced in a similar fashion to the feet, plus a bit of more fluff cause why not. Exposed skin is rough and leathery.
I also did a female Chimera since the game has genders. I do suck at drawing females.
I didn't feel like coloring it today but if I ever decide to do so I can just get right into it with no problem.

I've seen gameplay of Stellaris before - it looked pretty awesome. It's an interesting idea to role-play the Chimera in a game like that, as it seems like it'd end up having an unexpected outcome.
The physical changes as seen in the picture are a fascinating change: you put a lot of effort into showing it. Stripping away the more fantasy features of them leaves you with an interesting variation, especially with how they look without talons and their usual assorted tails. The clothing they wear is probably one of the more different yet subtle changes between their usual look and their new game inspired one.
It's probably the first time I've seen a drawing of a female Chimera - I actually think it looks quite good. Not too different, but subtle enough to make an impression.
